Ted Lasso Creators Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt were baffled by Joy Behar's claim that she was offered a role in the third season of the Apple TV series.
Talk to People Magazine During a panel discussion at a pre-Emmys event Thursday night, the co-creators expressed surprise when asked about Behar's confirmation. “I don't. Joy Behar is from the view” Sudeikis asked. As Hunt added, “With respect, this would be news to us. We're just working there.”
Bihar previously claimed in Scenery Behind the Table Podcast. This week, she was offered the role of the mother of Sudeikis' titular character in season three.
“It was very hot, there was a heatwave going on at the time. I'm a writer, I write my own stuff, I don't care about other people's stuff, I don't need to be in everything,” Behar said at 14:40. “So in the spring or fall I would have done it, but not in the middle of a heatwave.”
Even with the lukewarm reviews for the third season of the series, Ted Lasso He leads the list of comedy nominees for this year's Primetime Emmys with 21 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The series has dominated the category since it first aired in 2020. Sudeikis is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Phil Dunster and Brett Goldstein are up for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham were both nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Becky Ann Baker, who played Lasso's mother, took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
