It's been a year and a half since I switched from Mac to Windows, but still“Oh, I want to go back to Windows.”There are moments when I think about it.
This time, I will introduce these three timings.
1. Right-click hotkey is not displayed
On Windows,Context menu on right clickIt displays, but the shortcut keys are not displayed there on the Mac. This list is often used when organizing or changing folders and files.
For example, when you select a folder and right-click, (A), (ctrl+C), etc. are displayed for each action item, so you can work while looking at hotkeys without having to go through the hassle of searching for unknown commands.
but,This shortcut key is not displayed during normal operation on a Mac.
Of course, it's useful that some programs (Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.) display hotkeys just as Windows does, but they're not uniform across the operating system.
This point is one of the moments when you realize the convenience of Windows. It would be a good idea to look it up and save it.
2. Difficulty moving folders and files
Having used Windows for a long time, I find it easier to organize folders and files manually. especially,You can easily rename and move folders and files.
On the other hand, on a Mac, the design is certainly nice and the auto-arrange function is attractive, but when I wanted to manually manage things in detail, I couldn't help but notice a difference in operability.
3. Apps accumulate in the Dock
In Windows, pressing the Close button in the window closes the application. On a Mac, clicking the Close button on a window closes the window. This does not mean that you exit the application. It doesn't appear, it stays on.
Given these specifications, the big advantage of a Mac is that you can open and work on applications instantly as you would on a smartphone. On Windows,It may take from a few seconds to more than 10 seconds to start the application.
Here, you may be concerned about apps and files that are not closed completely. It appears in the Dock (Windows taskbar) and accumulates. That's it.
However, if you've finished working on an app and won't use it for a while, you'll need to close the app again in addition to closing the window.
Personally, I am not particularly familiar with computers, and I cannot use many of their functions, but I tried to write about what I felt as a user.
If you have been using Windows for a long time, you may feel the above-mentioned discomfort when switching to Mac. Both Windows and Mac have their own features and operability, and it's best to choose what suits your preferences and work style.
