Chips and Cheese, a technology media outlet, examined the performance of this Xe2 device in detail and published the results.

Also, the Core Ultra 7 155H has large fluctuations in power consumption, but the Core Ultra 7 258V is relatively stable.

When the power consumption is divided into “CPU power consumption”, “GPU power consumption”, and “full processor power consumption”, it looks like this. The Core Ultra 7 258V consumes more GPU power than the Core Ultra 7 155H.

The Core Ultra 7 258V has a large cache capacity, so it is able to show high performance while keeping the amount of communication with DRAM low. On the other hand, it can be seen that although the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 has high drawing performance, it also has a high amount of connectivity with DRAM. According to Chips and Cheese, access to DRAM is a factor that increases power consumption.


Chips and Cheese says the Core Ultra 7 258V iGPU is a sign of Intel's determination to catch up with AMD. “Consumption is high, and AMD needs to increase cache like Intel.”
