As part of a partnership, the Krumbacher Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium is visiting technology company Xitaso in Augsburg and taking a closer look at its robotics.
Promoting young talent – right from the start – is of the utmost importance. That is why the elective robotics course taught by teacher Gerhard Dempf at the Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium Crombach Xitaso Corporation headquartered in Augsburg Visited in early April. In this way, the students were able to combine the theory they gained with practice and gain interesting insights into how robots work in companies.

In addition to the Evobot, a robot that uses sensors to perceive its surroundings, the guys have also been able to program themselves a so-called cobot, a robotic arm. The goal was for the robot arm to plot a series of movements using a cube. The last working example, the telebot, aroused the greatest enthusiasm among the students. This robot, thanks to its camera and tablet, can replace the physical presence of people located elsewhere.
“We had a very exciting and happy morning when we could get young people excited about technology,” said Dominique Spoon, a Xitaso employee, about going to school at the company, which also has a location in Krumbach. “School partnerships like this are very important for us in order to introduce the next generation.” The increasingly complex technology in the best possible way. According to a press release from the school, promoting young talent is a major concern for Xitaso.
