High V: New patch finally allows offline play

You can finally play V Rising for real offline! Source: Stunlock Studios

V Rising is still very popular. This vampire-environmental action-survival-RPG from developer and publisher Stunlock Studios has made it like any other game in 2022. Despite its early access status, there’s not much to criticize. But the point of criticism that was justified from the start was that, despite promises to the contrary, an offline game was not possible. Previously, you had to have a stable internet connection to play V Rising. Even in private play.

Regarding this, there have been a lot of comments from players who blame exactly that. Stunlock Studios now interacts with Hotfix 0.5.41448, which, among other things, attacks and completely removes this problem. There is now a LAN mode in the game that you can activate in the main menu to enable offline play. These offline games can also be accessed by V Rising players on the same LAN as you. LAN mode will be further improved through development in Early Access, but is already available immediately.

More bugs fixed

In addition to what is arguably the most significant change, the developers at Stunlock Studios are also addressing other issues previously present in V Rising as part of today’s hotfix. For example, coveted soul fragments can no longer be placed in containers. There they caused technical problems on the one hand, but were often hidden in secure containers during attacks on PvP servers.

Additionally, gowns no longer return their full physical cost when salvaged, so you can’t even materialize from crafting and salvage with the appropriate customization floors. Furthermore, it is now no longer possible to send minions on multiple missions at the same time by placing multiple thrones. Also, the castle corridors will not separate from the castle core if two players remove connected items at the same time.

Under certain conditions, it was also possible to equip two weapons at the same time and get multiple rewards. This mechanism has now also been put to an end.

Furthermore, Steam Cloud can now store V Rising server history and individual official servers have been given icons for easy identification. All V Rising patch notes can be viewed in detail here to read.
