Google brings Steam to the first Chromebooks

The day has come when ChromeOS wants to compete with Windows and other platforms in the gaming space as well. Google has now released the first early version of Steam. Chromebooks are now more than browser computers with Android games. It supports modern cloud games, the most popular games for Android mobile devices and now PC games.

Steam on Chromebooks: Nothing is left to chance

In short: Steam in the alpha version requires at least 8GB of RAM and also an 11th-generation Core i5 or i7. Very modern and fast hardware, which may not have been included in most Chromebooks sold. But it’s also not a new phenomenon that games need more power.

Google says that more Chromebooks will likely come when new hardware with adequate performance becomes available. With the availability of hardware to date, the selection of devices that support the necessary standards remains small.
