Jury German Book PrizeThe Foundation for Promoting Book Culture and Reading of the German Book Trade Association honored the “Best German-language novel” of the past 12 months at the start of the Frankfurt Book Fair, and it selected 20 titles for the long list and presented them to the public on August 22, 2023. This year 172 novels were presented from By 111 publishers.
The jury for 2023 is composed of Sheila Bahgat (ZDF/Arte), Heinz Droeg (Goethe-University Frankfurt) and Melanie Moll (had won), Lisa Schumacher (Steinmetz’sche Library, Offenbach), Katharina Teich (had won), Florian Valerius (Backlight Library, Trier) and Matthias Weichelt (editor-in meaning and form).
The shortlist will be published on 19th September 2023. The award ceremony will take place on 16th October 2023.
