The country music icon made history with his concert at Kyle Field in College Station on Saturday night, where he played country tunes Record breaking 110,905 fans. The show set the US record for a booked concert, previously held by the Grateful Dead with their 1997 concert at Raceway Park in New Jersey.
“We have some Aggies over there? Oh yeah!” Street said at the ceremony, For every crown, referring to the Texas A&M University team. “I'm ashamed to say this, but this is my first time at Kyle Field. Damn it! Just invite me back!”

The concert also broke the record for the most attended single event at Kyle Field, even beating the Aggies football team. The record for a football game was set on October 11, 2014, with 110,663 fans in attendance in Texas A&M's 35-20 loss to SEC West rival Ole Miss. Strait also broke his own record in Texas on June 7, 2014, when it was performed to 104,793 at Arlington AT&T Stadium.

The current Fjords tour has four dates remaining. The next concert is scheduled for June 29 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

Among those attending Saturday's ceremony was Texas A&M's new head football coach Mike Elko And Senator Ted Cruz. Elko shared a photo of his seats from the venue when asked if he would be participating in a show of another kind: Texas A&M's College World Series baseball opener versus Florida in Omaha, Nebraska. The game was severely delayed due to weather conditions, causing a struggle for the Aggies coach.
“Having fun at Kyle Field,” Elko wrote. “But I'll be there to support @AggieBaseball when we're done.”
