I’d like to build a new gaming PC and could definitely use a little bit of input here and there. It’s definitely not the first time I’ve done this, but the last Windows PC was two years ago and I’m not up to date, and it’s the best solution for now.
Here one or the other of you will certainly get a clearer overview of the current components and possibly tips on where there is still room for improvement. I will be happy!
First of all, the setup as I’m currently planning:
Intel i9-13900KS (with Kraken X73 AiO?)
Gscale Trident Z5 32GB DDR5-6400 CL32-39-39-102
MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24G
Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X motherboard
Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB PCIE 4.0 M.2 SSD
Be calm! Straight power 11 1200 watts
Fractal Design Mesheve 2 case
Now for the list:
1. Do you want to play on PC? If the answer is yes, then what?
I’m not really static, but I automatically think of Diablo 4, CS2, Hogwarts Legacy, and the like. a. Solitaire would be decadent…
2. Do you want to use the computer to edit photos/music/videos or something similar? As a hobby or are you a professional? What software will you use?
Brophy – Yes, I’d like to keep the option open. I’m already a Mac user, but I prefer Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D on Windows.
3. Do you have special requirements or wishes (specific brands and manufacturers, overclocking, a particularly quiet PC, RGB lighting, …)?
Do you have a better suggestion for CPU cooler? Kraken X73 was just a spontaneous idea.
– but rather AMD?
– The box may light up like a gallery Are there dedicated RGB case fans recommended here?
The goal will be the best possible cooling, but the volume must remain within limits. But I’m not really sensitive.
4. How many and how many screens do you want to use? Model, resolution, refresh rate (hertz)? Gsync / FreeSync? How many FPS do you want to see?
I’m going to buy a 27″ 2K 144/165 Hz monitor with GSync. A purchase recommendation would be welcome here too! Or maybe 4k? The bottleneck calculator advised me against the latter, but I may have misunderstood the result.
5. Do you still have an old computer, parts of which can be reused?
(please with links or exact model name)
No, all new.
6. How much money do you want to spend?
About 5,000 euros
7. When should I buy a PC?
beginning of May.
8. Do you want to assemble the computer yourself or have it assembled (by the shop or by helpers (list as sticky))?
I will assemble the computer myself.
9. Do you want to stream your content with your PC (eg via Twitch/OBS)? If so, what games/content? Do you already have the parts to set up the stream? (multiple monitors, microphone, camera, broadcast device, …)?
This will definitely happen from time to time, but I already have all the equipment in the studio for that
Thank you very much for your help and I look forward to your responses.
Best Regards
Christopher
