Games Without Borders is also represented at Gamescom this year – and is offering an award.
The Inclusion in Games Award will be given again at Gamescom 2024. This was announced by the Games Without Borders initiative, which is giving the award in collaboration with mobile company Kongstar.
Accordingly, the awards ceremony will take place on August 21 – Trade Visitor Day – at the Congstar stand. As was the case last year, the award will be given to people and projects that advocate for or encourage greater inclusion in gaming.
The Unlimited Games Award is presented in these categories:
- National Award
- International Award
- Award Representation
- Hardware and Technology Award
- Award personality
The nominated projects and games in the relevant categories have not yet been announced. The awards will be decided by a jury composed of experts from the fields of games, research, education and journalism.

Gamescom 2024 will take place from August 21 to 25 at the Cologne Exhibition Center. The trade fair will open with a live opening ceremony, where there will also be some new announcements. However, two big names will not be at the trade fair: Nintendo and Sony have already cancelled their participation.
