One gamer explains that he has been experiencing high temperatures in his gaming PC for months. That's why he now wanted to replace his cooling system. But he is surprised when he sees his therapist. Because it's totally sticky and dirty. Some say they haven't seen anything like this in 20 years.
According to his own statement, one gamer has been experiencing major heat issues with his computer for months. He wanted to solve the problem by replacing his old cooler with a new system (via reddit.com). But after disassembling his old water cooling system, he saw that his CPU had turned a very strange color. He himself writes in another post:
I will probably replace the m22 refrigerant because [die Kühlung] Hot damn hot runs. I haven't seen any leaks, it's dry as a bone.
The pump stopped working, I think it was due to overheating. And yes – the thermal paste can withstand much higher temperatures, but that may be why it's such a weird color.
The community expects that the cooling system was installed incorrectly
What is the problem? One user explains that he may not have installed his cooling system correctly. This would cause dirt to enter and contaminate the thermal paste and reduce long-term cooling performance.
He himself writes that the life of thermal paste is about three or four years. Just a month ago the temperatures rose so much that his computer kept shutting down. He suspects it may have been “a slow coolant leak that caused the browning, but the coolant was very dry when I removed it, so I'm not sure.” He had previously removed a plastic part of the CPU and cooler.
Is there anything positive too? Yes, the player explains that the manufacturer NZXT refunded his cooling money, even though he had already used it for four years:
NZXT has actually been kind enough to accept returns/exchanges even though I purchased it four years ago. I am very happy with them.
Why should high temperatures be avoided? Devices end up running significantly slower under high temperatures. The processor and graphics card reduce performance to handle heat or shut down in an emergency to protect components.
Furthermore, some components wear out more quickly when there are large temperature fluctuations or at very high temperatures. Therefore, many gamers try to keep temperatures and possible fluctuations within limits and either use condenser air cooling or rely on water cooling AIO.
