Fortnite Crossplay (multi-platform matchmaking) can be optional

Fortnite, the battle royale game, is available on many platforms. It can not only be played on consoles and computers, but also can be downloaded to mobile devices (Android / iOS).

For a few years, Fortnite has been cross-play compatible. This feature is not only suitable for players of different consoles (such as Xbox and PlayStation), but also console players with PC players.

Since cross-play became available, many Fortnite players have complained about the matchmaking system (SBMM). Apparently, it matches experienced PC gamers with casual console players (1And 2And 3And 4And 5And 6And September).

The above was covered here in 2019. Since then, players have been experiencing the same situation, with no sign of change from Epic Games (1And 2And 3And 4And 5And 6And SeptemberAnd 8And 9And dicks).

But, now, for the first time in years, Epic Games may consider making the Fortnite cross-play an optional feature.

Fortnite enforced multiplayer complaints continue to this day

Although there have been related complaints for years, Epic Games haven’t made any changes. So, players suffer from the problem to this day, as recent reports suggest.

Am I the only one who found SMBB to be the biggest epic mistake?

When the epic game thought it was a good idea to force cross-play, I’m working on PC/Switch and only think on Switch that players hit 160-300fps jumpers on 30fps…and get back to our decks (switch Using a ps4 key with a ps4 and the like).

I agree that console players shouldn’t be forced to play with PC players who have the most advantage. I see it more with Playstation than with Xbox. I’m not trying to play FNCS, I just want to have fun with my friends. It is a big problem and it must be addressed.

Unfair advantages of PC players over console players

Players consider that the advantages of PC players over console players are quite a lot. Thus, the system should not pair players from both systems in the same match.

When I play with the computer players on my team, we get a huge number of other computer players and they have such a specific goal. They are able to build/modify and shoot seemingly at the same time. I have an Xbox Series X connected to the modem and can’t get speeds that fast. PC players are on a different level. I’m fine with no forced intersection.

Fortnite cross-play may be optional

Just a few days ago, Epic Games sent out a survey to Fortnite players. In it, they were asked to vote for their least favorite feature in the game, and crossplay was among the options.

It’s the first time in years that the company has hinted that it’s considering making cross-play optional. Due to the extension Poll resultsNow, this is soon a possibility.

However, at this time, the company has not issued a public statement on the matter. So, all that’s left is to wait and see if Epic Games releases any relevant updates in the coming days.

As soon as new developments regarding forced play in Fortnite come out, we will update this article. You can also check out our Fortnite bug/issue tracker.
