According to DTE, the construction of the new facilities will create about 250 temporary and ten permanent jobs.
“Ford was the first major industrial customer to enroll in the MIGreenPower program in 2019, and we thank Ford for its continued commitment to using MIGreenPower to decarbonize its operations and achieve its sustainability goals.”said Jerry Norcia, Chairman and CEO of DTE Energy. The DTE program is one of the largest voluntary renewable energy transformation initiatives in the United States. About 62,000 private customers and 600 companies are currently registered and, according to the service provider, have produced 2.8 million megawatt-hours of clean energy.
Ford has invested about $10 billion in Michigan since 2016. Measures include a new research and development campus in Dearborn and the construction of the Ion Park Battery Center in Romulus.
