Facade foils with new self-adhesive tape technology from Teroson Bautechnik

(July 14, 2023) With the re-release of the Teroson FO 2 SK1 and SK2 vapor permeable interface chips (formerly Teroson FO 3 SK1 and SK2), Teroson Bautechnik has improved on a proven chip material. Tear Resistant Self-Adhesive Hybrid PSA Tapes can be used easily, quickly and safely all year round.

Successful update of an installed product

On the construction site, one always encounters unexpected situations and non-ideal conditions that require improvisation. “However, the facade film must be a perfect fit right away, because rework can lead to potential subtle leaks. However, the increased demands on assembly materials often come at the expense of their workability,” says Vito Henning Leiter of the company Teroson Bautechnik of Heinkel. Therefore, the company has upgraded the Teroson FO 3 SK1 and SK2 vapor-permeable self-adhesive facade films and equipped them with Henkel’s PSA hybrid technology. This has a strong instant adhesion as well as a post-crosslinking effect, resulting in excellent claws on any dense and metallic building materials. Because it has a lighter and softer structure, the improved laminate can be machined and molded better – “for a strong bond right down to the smallest angle”.

It’s easy to use, time-saving, and still completely safe

Teroson FO2 SK1 and SK2 vapor permeable facade films are available in single or double sided self-adhesive tapes. PSA technology also guarantees very good wet adhesion, so that time-consuming preparatory work to remove moisture and condensate is no longer necessary. Moreover, the material is highly elastic, yet highly resistant to tearing and has very high heat resistance (over 100°C). Furthermore, the films can also be safely processed in a temperature range as low as -5°C. “Thanks to Teroson’s finger lift, the carrier film can be removed quickly and easily – even with work gloves on,” adds Vito Henning.
