Yamaha enthusiasts will have to rethink something in 2022: no big AV receivers, pre/amplifier combos, and no new high-quality hi-fi components will be shown in Berlin at IFA September 2-6. Instead, the focus is on headphones, affordable speakers, gaming and streaming equipment – different times, which some people will regret, as we can very well understand. Unlike other audio service providers, the Japanese are still at least represented at the International Consumer Electronics Show at the Exhibition Center in Berlin.
Central to Yamaha are the YH-L700A and YH-E700A over-ear headphones as well as the TW-E7B and TW-ES5A earbud models. With the ZG01 audio mixer and YH-G01 headphone, Yamaha also offers important accessories for optimum sound quality and high-quality streaming. The YAS-209 amplifier (from 2020) stands above it at IFA and will be on display there as well. With the SR-C30A, the Yamaha mount also features a new product exclusive to gamers and home cinema fans. Yamaha products can be found in the joint trade show appearance with Expert at Stand 101 in Hall 7.2a.

Built-in remote control
Thanks to Adaptive Low Volume technology, the built-in speaker body develops vibrant and credible sound even at low volume, which, according to Yamaha, also benefits gamers who put the speaker on a desk. Bluetooth, HDMI, ARC, optical digital input and analog input are connectivity options with several sound modes typical of Yamaha and Clear Voice function for optimal understanding of dialogues, audio can be adjusted depending on the source.

In addition to the novelty, the YAS-209, which has been available since 2020 and which we tested with very good results, will also be offered. The YAS-209 delivers a total power of 200W (2 x 50W subwoofer, 1 x 100W subwoofer). Alexa voice control is integrated and, thanks to DTS Virtual:X, delivers 3D surround sound with remarkable quality. A wireless subwoofer is included in the scope of delivery, something that friends of well-prepared, powerful movie sound reproduction will appreciate. The subwoofer is based on a 16cm chassis, found in 2 x 2.5cm thin woofers and 4 x 4.6cm mid-range drivers. There are also features like WiFi, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, and Tidal as well as HDMI slots on the connection side.

With the ZG01 there is a sound mixer specially designed for an immersive gaming atmosphere. With this device, players can control the game’s soundtrack, player voice and chat partner voice, and mix broadcasts for viewers and chat partners. Both devices are available together as a ZG01 PACK.
