Ploom Dive is a spatial video content that uses the latest Apple Vision Pro technology to enjoy the experience of smoking Ploom in a digital space surrounded by marine life. Using the power of Apple Vision Pro, we offer a new kind of relaxing experience where reality and digital intersect, which unfolds in two different scenes and turns the 5-minute puff time you enjoy smoking a heated Ploom into something special.
“Today’s smoking environment forces us to smoke in small spaces or smoking areas that are crowded with people,” says Shigetaka Fukumoto, brand manager of Japan Tobacco’s product planning division. “For example, if you’re a tenant in a large building, you might have to go to the restricted smoking area downstairs and wait in line to finally get a cigarette. At the very least, we want people to enjoy Ploom while they’re enjoying it, and we were trying to figure out what we could do to make that happen.” Based on this idea, we came up with Ploom Dive, which was developed in partnership with Graffity.
This time, Ploom Dive is co-developed by Graffity, a startup that provides entertainment using AR technology. According to CEO Toshiaki Morimoto, “The main features of Ploom Dive are the following four points.”
・Provides an interactive experience with a realistic whale, where light and movement intersect underwater.
・Real-time spatial mapping and mirror reflection create a realistic digital experience.
・The beautiful sparkling water surface and light connect reality to another world.
・Deep relaxation experience created by slow movements and sound.
When you wear Apple Vision Pro, you can take full advantage of the device’s realistic drawing power and see life-like whales and tropical fish appear before your eyes. With an immersive underwater soundtrack, you can enjoy a moment of relaxation as you watch majestic whales and tropical fish while smoking a Plum.
Abstract objects float in space, creating a mysterious and unreal world. 3D objects move in time with the music and bounce when they collide with whales or real-world obstacles. Real space and 3D seamlessly blend, allowing you to experience the unique worldview of Apple Vision Pro.
