Exoprimal: Cross-play will be restricted when the game is released
The official Exoprimal Twitter account shared a thread explaining how the in-game cross-play feature works.
Hey Exofighters,
We’ve seen #Exoprimal Community discussions regarding the ability to create parties between players happen on different platforms, and I’d like to elaborate on the game’s specific feature around this at launch.Exoprimal (exoprimal) July 7, 2023
Hey Exofighters, We’ve heard the discussions in the Exoprimal community about the ability to create parties between players on different platforms and would like to clarify what features are relevant to the game at launch. On Day 1, Exoprimal will support cross-platform matchmaking, but creating groups will be specific to each platform ecosystem, as described below in no particular order: Group 1: Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Windows; Collection 2: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5: Collection 3: Steam
We’re investigating ways you can play with your friends on other platforms, but this may take some time. Plus, we’ll be sharing the full major update roadmap with you soon!
So in plain language, this means that there will be limited cross support when Exoprimal launches. The platforms will be divided into the following three groups:
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and Windows
- PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5
- steam
Thus, cross-play will only be possible within the respective ecosystem. However, Capcom is working on the feature and trying to find ways to implement full cross-play between all platforms. This may take some time, so be patient until then.
