Delta investigates spoiled meals that led to emergency landing

Delta Air Lines returned to normal catering operations on international flights Friday after reports of spoiled meals on a flight this week forced it to divert, provide emergency medical care and change food service on more than 100 flights.

The ordeal began early Wednesday morning when a flight from Detroit to Amsterdam with 277 passengers on board was diverted to New York after crew members learned that some of the meals served to economy class passengers had spoiled. Black did not name the catering company responsible for the meals on Wednesday's flight, but said “there are multiple components of the catering under review.”
