Zach Bryan has taken responsibility for not being “perfect” in his relationship with his ex-wife Brianna “Chickenfree” LaPaglia after their split was confirmed on Tuesday.
“Brianna and I have gone our separate ways and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” the 28-year-old country star began in a lengthy post on his Instagram Story.
He added: “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I will always thank her. I have had a very difficult year on a personal level and have gone through some very rough things. I thought it would be good for both of us.” To go our different ways.”
“I'm not perfect and I never will be,” he admitted.

He asked fans to respect LaPaglia's privacy, and “if it's in your heart,” he does too.
He concluded: “For everything I am and for anyone I let down, I'm sorry that I did my best in everything. I let down the people who love me and mostly myself.”
“With everything I am and everyone I let down, I'm sorry I tried my best at everything. I let down the people who love me, especially myself.”
Brian's confession came a day after LaPaglia posted a handwritten note on notebook paper that said: “In the end you will find that life goes on, even if you don't want it to.”
The note continued: “Days will pass and the world will move while you ask it to stop. You will think life is cruel if you keep moving forward while your feet are stuck. You will find people and moments to blame for your concrete feet.” Then there will come a morning when you wake up and realize that things are going, that life isn't so hard on your feet, the world just keeps on turning and hoping to show you that you can too.
After Bryan announced their breakup, LaPaglia took to her Instagram Story again to tell fans that she plans to take a break from social media.
“Guys, I'm really bummed right now,” she wrote on Tuesday. “I'm going to take a hiatus from social media for a while and try to heal in private, and when I'm ready I'll come back and get ready to talk. I love you guys so much and thank you for all your kind words. Remember, you are so loved.” And everything will always be okay.”
LaPaglia reiterated that she felt “shocked” in a YouTube video in which she went into more detail, saying she didn't know he would publish about their breakup.
“I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram account that we broke up,” she said in the video. “I had no idea he posted that post. He didn't text me or call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts like: 'Are you okay?' And I'm like: 'Did my dad die?' And so I'm completely amazed by that.”

She added that she kept crying for five straight days.
She said she couldn't understand how anyone could love someone “unconditionally through things you shouldn't do because you just love them, like you see the good in them” and still “get rid of them within a few days.”
LaPaglia said she doesn't want to go into details about the breakup yet because she needs to “heal in private” first.
She added: “I'll be fine, I'll be fine, obviously I'm in a lot of pain right now.”
In July, she posted a series of photos of them together, describing him as her “person forever.”
She commented on the post, saying: “A year filled with more love than I thought I was capable of, and laughing louder than any previous year.” “You made me appreciate all the things that were always in front of me. You brought me back to my family and helped me love myself again.”
She added: “There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. My person is forever. I love you, Zachary.”
Bryan also posted a group of photos of the two on her 25th birthday in June.
“25 years of making people laugh, bringing kindness into rooms, and carrying the weight of everyone around you like it was easy,” he wrote. “You don't judge at first glance, you have opinions that you stick to and make every passing day warmer no matter what the weather.
“I love you, Brianna, and I pray I can say all of this in another 25 years.”
