Cooler Master may be best known for its gaming accessories. However, it also sells gaming monitors, such as the GM27-CFX and last year’s GM34-CWQ. The company recently announced the GM34-CWQ2, a successor to the GM34-CWQ, as well as the small LED-based Tempest GP2711. Additionally, it showed off the GM2711S, a 27-inch monitor that it hopes to release in early 2024.
according to TFT Central, Cooler Master has supplied an IPS panel for the GM2711S from AU Optronics (AUO), which also integrates the latter’s Advanced Reflection Technology (ART). The degree to which ART reduces glare and reflections supposedly allows the GM2711S to operate in 20% less light without compromising on visual brightness. Officially, the panel’s processing reduces power consumption by up to 60% as a result, although we should stress that this is the words of AUO and not independent reviewers.
As for the GM2711S itself, TFT Central The display reportedly has a 1440p (2560 x 1440) resolution, a 180Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 350 nits. Furthermore, Cooler Master rates the display for response times of 2ms GtG, 91% Adobe RGB and 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage, respectively, as well as a static contrast ratio of 1000:1. The GM2711S should be available in Q1 2024 with HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4 and USB ports for $299 in the US and £265 in the UK.
