“Super Simple” and “Simply Awesome” can be read on the box of the card game by Josep M. AlluĂ© (Zoch Verlag). And they really don’t count much, because even casual players will have no problem understanding the rules and playing right away.
How does the Claro card game work?
The review is short and quick: each player receives five cards. The starting player places a face-up card in the middle and the next player always has three options:
- put a card with a higher number,
- Play one with a star of the same color or
- suits.
If you succeed, you are eliminated from the current round, because no cards can be drawn. The last player with cards remaining or the last pass wins the round and gets a star. Whoever has three stars at the end is the winner.
Is Claro fun?
That’s it really! The advantage of this fast and easy-to-learn game is that you always want revenge because the game has no boring stages, cards are always played quickly and you don’t have to draw cards endlessly.
Another big advantage: children from the age of seven can play with each other. The game is also very attractive and easy to learn for the elderly. I’ve tried it both in primary school and in the retirement home – each with great success!
Tip for rounds of two
It is not clear to me why the minimum number of players is three, because it can also play well with two people. Each player should only get ten cards instead of five.
