Cities: Skylines, the modern city-builder developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive, has sold more than 12 million copies across all platforms since its launch in 2015, according to its press release this Wednesday. With deep simulation and endless customization options, Cities: Skylines is constantly evolving and reaching new generations of players.
Since its launch in 2015, the team at Cities: Skylines has improved the game experience, releasing 13 expansions, over 10 radio stations and bundles that provide the complete Cities: Skylines experience to fans new and old. Modification is another important part of the game. It’s easy to learn to build a city from the ground up, but when a community begins to build on those foundations, the city becomes a home. Thanks to one of the most active mod communities in the world, Cities: Skylines is always growing and expanding at an amazing rate.
A big thank you from the Cities: Skylines team can be seen here:
Marijna Halälikäinen, CEO of Colossal Order says:
“We are grateful for how active the Cities: Skylines community is, and we are glad that they share their passion for city building games. It is a dream come true and the game has resonated with so many players over the years. We always listen to players’ feedback and work hard to bring more happiness to our fans in the future.” .
Cities: Skylines also appeared on consoles in 2017 and today a birthday patch has been released for Xbox One and PlayStation that introduces many new items and bug fixes, among other things. There are more details about this over here.
