Information indicates that Hyper-Threading (HT) will be phased out at Lake Arrow.Moore’s Law Is Dead YouTube channel reported.
First of all, keep in mind that these leaks are more than two years old and may change in the future.
▼ 15th generation Arrow Lake (ARL) 2024Q4 (*generation equivalent to Core i series)
The other day, igor’sLab leaked Arrow Lake’s desktop CPU performance predictions, but that’s the result of the i7’s A0 silicon. i7 shows 20% higher performance than Raptor Lake.
Silicon B, which will be the i9, an important upgrade to Silicon A, will be tested in the second half of 2023.
The base model 8P + 16E is scheduled to be commercialized by the end of 2024. The base model 8P + 32E, on the other hand, will be in the second quarter (April-June) or the third quarter (July-September) of 2025.
Hyperthreading seems to have been canceled at Arrow Lake (Lion Cove P-Core).Intel plans to replace hyper-threading with something called “Rentable Units” (RU)
Previously, I leaked that ‘if Arrow Lake vs Meteor Lake has the same number of cores, the former has 40% higher multi-threading performance’, but this is the result of Arrow Lake without hypertightening.
Comparing Arrow Lake and Raptor Lake, the performance is expected to be 30-40% for single thread and 40% or more for multithreading.
▼ 15th generation Moon Lake (LNL) 2025H1
Lion Cove + architecture is certified for P-Core. 4P4E design with Skymont E-Core
I don’t know if I would use Rentable Units. He didn’t mention hyper-correlation
Moon Lake has fewer cores than Ice Lake and Lakefield. Energy saving, lightweight and thin for mobile phone
▼ Sixteenth generation Panther Lake (PNL) 2026H1
Due to the unsatisfactory simulation results, it was almost cancelled. Desktop CPU has been canceled as of July 2023
Presumably, plans to bring Panther Lake (Cougar Cove P-Core) to laptops are still ongoing.
The documentation I’ve seen states that Cougar Cove uses “rentable units”. Do not use hyperlinks
▼ Diamond Rapids (DMR) 2026H1
Diamond Rapids is a server CPU that uses the Lion Cove + P-Core architecture
192-core CPU with “rentable units” instead of hyper-threading
▼ Seventeenth generation Nova Lake (NVL) 2026H2
Use of rental units
Right now, we’re targeting mid-2026 for desktop and around Q4 (October-December) 2026 for mobile, but changes are expected as this is a long way off.
It may still use LGA1851
▼? Generation Beast Lake (BTL) 2026H2
One source believes this to be the successor to Lake Nova, while another believes it will be a special version of Lake Nova.
Per Moore’s Mitt’s Law, Intel is going to ditch the Arrow Lake hyperthreading and replace it with something called rentable units. To be honest, I want to say, “Really?”
It’s good that even if hyper-threading is done, higher performance is expected than Raptor Lake and Meteor Lake, but I also think that “if hyper-threading is used, the performance will be higher…”.
Please note that the above information is early leaked information and may change in the future as Moore’s Law states on the mitt. At this point, you should not take it for granted and look at it as if there was such a story.
