Broadcasting overtakes cable and streaming for first-time TV viewing: NPR

Streaming platforms have finally made it happen. For the first time ever, streaming services have captured more viewers than cable or broadcast TV, according to New data from Nielsen.

You might think to yourself that your noble contributions to the critically acclaimed series meant that the live broadcast definitely took center stage before now. And you’re right – at least in part. Broadcasting has outperformed broadcast a month prior, but broadcast and cable never took place in the same month.

In the US, broadcasting captured 34.8% of the viewership in July, while broadcasting captured 34.4% and broadcasting came in third with 21.6%.

Weekly broadcasts in July surpassed epidemic peaks
