Several centuries ago, when the city of Carcassonne did not exist, people hunted wild animals, fished in the river, and picked berries and nuts to survive. Will you survive in the wild? Are you brave enough to kill mammoths and build your huts in the wilderness? With the new version of the classic “Carcassonne – Hunters and Gatherers”, we now have a beautifully designed world from the past on the table just waiting to be played.

Information about the game

Asmodee has made “Carcasonne hunters and Collecters” available for us to review.
This does not affect our rating!

How do you survive in the wilderness and win the game in the end?

Anyone who knows Carcassonne or one of the other versions will find it easy to get started. Each person receives five maples and three cottages of one color. The sixth maple of each color is placed on the game board. The starting tile is placed in the middle, now the first person draws a tile and places it appropriately. This means that the horizontal tiles must match the area already displayed. The river should fit into the river, the grassland with the grassland, etc. In one turn, a person can still place a Meeple or Hut on the tiles that have just been laid. It should be noted that meeples may only be placed in areas that do not already contain meeples of a different color. If a hut has already been built, a maple may be laid.

Huts are always built on river systems where there is no other hut yet. If Maple is already placed in a river area, you can still build a hut. If the ratings are made directly by the laid tiles, they will be performed immediately. Now the meeple must also go forward with the corresponding number of points on the scoreboard. As a special feature of this variant of Carcassonne, there are so-called “menhir tiles” (menhir = menhir), which either earn points directly or at the end of the final scoring.

The game continues like this until someone places the last horizontal tile and the scene is completed. Now comes the evaluation, where complete river systems and complete forests with meeples or huts are recorded. Hunters are also registered depending on the animals in their area. The person who gets the most points wins the game.
