Four natural spirits have been chosen to save the Sacred Tree, which is threatened by the fire of Onebe. Now it’s up to you to choose the best items that guardian animals will bring to you to put out fires, plant new trees, attract new animals or collect sacred flowers. Can you save the tree before onebi’s fire does more damage to the forest?
Ludnaute is kind enough to provide Living Forest for us to review.

How can you resist flames with nature spirits?
Everyone gets 14 Guardian Animal cards, which make up the starting deck. Each animal card contains different items that have different strengths. These items can be light to buy new animal cards; young shoots for planting trees; water to put out the fires of onebi; Wisdom to advance on the stone circle as well as sacred flowers to awaken Sankei. Moreover, each person receives a player board on which everyone can plant new trees. The game pieces stand on another board, the stone circle.
Each round begins with the Animal Guard Phase. At this point, players reveal their animal guard cards at the same time in order to get the best possible combination of items. By combining items, they can perform a maximum of two actions. But caution is advised here. Some guardian animal cards have black symbols on the cards, if three of them are revealed, the person has gambled and can only do one action. However, these “loner monsters” can be neutralized by revealing a card with a white symbol, or by playing with a club. These intersections can be obtained through various promotions and bonuses throughout the game.
In the Action phase, one or two actions can now be performed alternating with the display of items. Extinguish fires, plant trees, add new animal cards to your deck, or advance on the stone circle. If someone decides to put out a fire in the forest, that person receives the flame. If someone decides to plant a tree on their board, there are trees that cost different amounts and lead to different reward actions. Animal cards also cost a different number of points of light and again have different values. However, buying animal cards also triggers a torch of appropriate power (2, 3 or 4) to enter the forest for the next round.
At the end of the round, Onebe rages. First, the number of flame points in the middle is checked. If all players have enough water points and there are flame points in the middle, nothing will happen to any player. If a person has less water points, he takes the number of Flame Card flame points in his Flame Card he must dash to his surface. They are treated like “black cards”, except that there are no additional items on the card. Then the flame points are placed in the middle according to the way the animals were purchased in the previous round.
The first person to plant 12 different trees, collect 12 flames or reveal 12 sacred flowers on the animal cards is the winner.
