The actress claimed she spoke to Blake Lively about reprising her role in “Deadpool & Wolverine” — but Ryan Reynolds didn't follow through.
“Blake asked me once,” Perry, 58, said in an interview Monday. Interview with Comicbook.com“I met her at the Marc Jacobs show.” [in September 2023]”.”
At the time, Lively, 36, asked, “Will you be in my husband's movie as Storm?”
“Yes, if he asked me,” Perry replied — but she told the paper that the 47-year-old actor “never asked her.”
Reynolds' representative has not yet responded to Page Six's request for comment.
His film with Hugh Jackman, which premiered on July 26, featured several epic roles, from Jennifer Garner as Elektra to Wesley Snipes as Blade.
Channing Tatum even joined the cast to play Gambit even though his 2019 movie as the Marvel superhero never materialized.
It is worth noting that Perry began playing the role of Storm in 2000 in the movie “X-Men”.
She continued to portray the character in the films “X2” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” in 2003 and 2006, respectively.
Perry last played the role in 2014's “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
While I was talking about the stars appearing in “Deadpool & Wolverine” during August 5th episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcastDirector Shawn Levy neglected to mention Perry.
However, the 56-year-old actress clarified Taylor Swift's absence from the film after speculation swirled that she would play Dazzler.
“It was never a conversation,” Levy revealed to listeners. “It wasn’t even the seed of a discussion.”
He also revealed Garner's character who made fun of her real-life ex-husband, Ben Affleck, admitting that the actor didn't “verify” the joke about him.
