London – Street Artist Banksy British artist Michael Jackson on Monday unveiled a new mural of a rhinoceros that appears to climb atop a London car — the eighth animal-themed artwork he's released in the past week in a series that includes elephants, goats, a wolf, swans and more.
The elusive graffiti artist, who has never confirmed his full identity, has been posting new work on his Instagram account every day since Monday. The latest work in Charlton, southeast London, shows a rhinoceros on a wall and gives the impression that the animal is riding a broken-down car parked outside the building.
Sunday, The artist demands another artwork. A depiction of a predatory fish that appeared on a police box near the Central Criminal Court, known as the Old Bailey, in London.
A small crowd of people flocked to the aquarium-shaped artwork on Monday, taking selfies as workers put up barriers around it. A spokesman for the City of London Corporation said it was looking at options to preserve it.
Other pieces unveiled last week included pelicans that appeared on the side of a fish shop in Walthamstow, east London, and a howling wolf silhouette painted on a satellite dish on the roof of a garage in south London.
The wolf design was seen being removed by men carrying it the same day it was unveiled. It was not immediately clear who removed the satellite dish.
Banksy began his career painting buildings in Bristol, England, and has become one of the world's most famous artists. His works have sold for millions of dollars at auction, and his outdoor murals have often been stolen or removed by building owners shortly after they were installed.
