With the ROG Carnyx, ASUS has introduced a new condenser microphone for gaming. Special features are the built-in pop filter and metal shock mount, which are included in the scope of delivery. We tried the ROG Carnyx.
Taiwanese hardware manufacturer ASUS has its own brand of gaming consoles and peripherals, Republic of Gamers, or ROG for short. While they previously specialized in full-fledged headphones, ROG now offers a proprietary condenser microphone that, like the rest of the product range, is clearly aimed at gamers and streamers. This is how the entry can be found on Official Website It is also available under the Broadcasts tab.
Packaging
The microphone packaging is modern in black and red. Under the lid is a middle cap with the slogan “For those who dare” which adds to the excitement about the actual contents. Below is the microphone with clear inserts. It is installed at the factory on a metal base. Thick foam pads also protect the device from strong shocks during transportation. Of course, the obligatory silicone package should not be missing either. In addition, there is only paperwork such as instructions and warranty card, as well as a three-meter USB-C cable for quick connection.
stabilizing
Once connected, Carnyx is instantly ready to use thanks to Plug'n'Play. It can be used on both Microsoft Windows and MacOS. Use on mobile devices is not intended here. The microphone's RGB lighting defaults to a random color change.
If you want more control, you can ROG Weapons Box to install. The internal software can also be used to sync multiple manufacturer's devices. This allows for uniform illumination via LEDs and color coordination for your setup. In addition to solid color, you can also choose from breathing, flashing, color cycle, rainbow and music modes. AURA Sync technology makes it possible to pair different devices and start your own light show.
