Art Gallery – an exciting competition for the most famous paintings in the world. The world’s most famous paintings, 48 ​​masterpieces, can be found in the art gallery. Preparations are currently being made to open a new gallery, which will require your understanding of art and your ability to present paintings in an exciting way. This is how the Art Gallery game works

Bids are being submitted for 48 famous paintings using business cards. To do this, players move through different exhibition areas (there are four to eight areas, depending on the number of players). In addition, as befits an exhibition, there is a shop area where you can purchase paint tiles.

In each round, masters can make their bid four times by performing two actions in succession: moving the pawn and making a bid. Both are controlled via action cards, of which each player has nine available each round. Cards have values ​​from zero to eight.

Auction promotions

To move, the player places an action card from his hand and moves his master forward the corresponding number of spaces in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Any number of characters can sit on the benches in front of the paintings. The player then uses another action card to secretly bid for the board in front of them.

If there are already business cards face down in front of the board, he simply places his bid on top. Using a marker in the corresponding field, the player shows his bid. The same conditions apply to the shop area. These actions are performed four times so that each person has played eight action cards at the end of the round.

Evaluation in the art gallery

Post-bid evaluation always begins in the store area. In this area there are four spaces with paint tiles. The four fields have different values, which are 1, 3, 5, and 7. The tags used show the order in which the business cards used here are used. The card value of the respective action card shows the fields from which paint tiles can be taken. The value can also be split into two different fields.

In the end, each player gets an action card for each pen used. Starting with the player with the mark in the bottom field, everyone chooses an action card of their choice. Each exhibition area is then evaluated individually. Whoever plays the card with the highest value gets the board. If a player submits multiple action cards to a board, the card values ​​are added together. The campaign cards are then distributed again using the same procedure as in the store. Players always place their earned drawing cards in front of them. It is always positioned overlapping on the right. The order of the boards may not be changed at any time during the game.

End of the match and final scoring

After the tour, the empty drawing spaces are filled with paintings again. Game pieces stay in place. Everyone takes the action cards, which are not necessarily the same as in the previous round, returns them to their hand and the next round begins.

The game ends when there are no more boards available to refill or when you are in the shop area, depending on the number of players; Two or three empty piles.

After the final scoring, in which continuous rows of symbols on the drawing cards, drawing tiles that match the drawing card in your hand (3 points), tiles that do not match (1 point) and the values ​​of your hand cards are divided by four who are awarded the Best Tour Guide award.

I would classify Art Gallery as an upscale family game. Don’t be put off by the 60-page rule, the rule comes in six different languages ​​and there are 10 richly illustrated pages to work through for each language. The actual rule is very short and is learned quickly.

You should think carefully about the order in which you buy paintings, because collecting artworks in the correct order brings a lot of points. It’s definitely worth taking a look at other players’ passion for collecting things.
