Media Molecule has announced Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale, a new playable game the studio made for its 2019 build game, Dreams.
The game seems to focus on two dungeon-traveling heroes who must fight “horrible beasts” and solve “evil puzzles” to progress through the medieval “Ancient Danger” mode. There is, of course, loot and riches to be found in each of these dungeons, and there seems to be a cute bat in the center of the story, as the name hints.
As you can see from the trailer above, Ancient Dangers are so beautiful that it’s hard to imagine a game made within Dreams, which is itself a game. But it’s back to Media Molecule for doing it. Ancient Dangers also look great, which is even more interesting given that it’s already been rolled out today.
Here is the official description of the ancient dangers:
Join teenage goblins Scoria and Gabbro as they team up with their new friend, Herb the Bat, on a mission to find the famous snore. Will Scoria and Gabbro find the herbs they need to cure their grandmother’s terrible snoring? Will their bat friend, who has a good sense of humor, be able to find His way home? Play now and show these dragons what happens when you are confused with teenage goblins!”
Ancient Dangers is a third-person dungeon game, with a single player mode where players control Scoria, and a co-op mode adding Scoria’s twin, Gabbro, to the mix. However, co-op mode is only available on the couch. Media Molecule reports that new PlayStation Trophies have been added to Dreams so players can unlock them while playing Ancient Dangers, so if hunting for trophies is your thing, you don’t want to miss it.
