Meta, which sells the Oculus Quest 2, has long revealed that it is developing a new generation of standalone VR glasses with eye tracking, codenamed “Project Cambria”. In July 2022, it was reported that the next generation virtual reality headset will be called ‘Meta Quest Pro’ from Oculus’ iOS app code.

The image in question was posted on Facebook by video game maker Ramiro Cardenas and has also been reprinted on Reddit.

Also in the corner of the package is a sticker that reads “Not for sale – development model”.

“I found it I left behind in the hotel room,” Mr. Cardenas said of the Oculus Pro package, and “afterwards, the guests who stayed in the room asked to return the headset,” as I testify to IT news site The Verge.

There have been several cases of undisclosed devices leaking because they were misplaced. In 2011, an Apple employee misplaced an iPhone 4 on a strap, exposing its looks and features before it was announced.

The Verge appears to have asked Meta about the leaked photo, but it appears that Meta has not responded.
