As confirmed by Scott Herkelman, acting president of gaming at AMD, he will leave the American company at the end of 2023 after more than seven years. The position of general manager of the Radeon division will now be taken over by Jack Huynh, who will become the new head of gaming at AMD. Scott said goodbye to Herkelman with emotional words via SMS X.
Scott Herkelman, acting head of gaming at AMD, who was also responsible for Radeon graphics cards as senior vice president and general manager of the Graphics Business Group, has now confirmed that he will leave the American company at the end of 2023 after more than seven years. Herkelmann found emotional words via X – formerly Twitter – and hopes for AMD’s victory over the great “last opponent”. Maybe this means Nvidia.
The position of general manager of the Radeon division will now be taken over by Jack Huynh, who will become the new head of gaming at AMD. Huynh is already listed as the new Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Group on AMD’s official website.
This means that the restructuring at the top of the division responsible for Radeon graphics cards has already been completed and AMD is reorganizing itself. After the unhappy release of RDNA 3 graphics cards, Scott Herkelman himself came under increasing criticism, which is why this reorganization seems quite understandable from the company’s point of view.
