Album review: GOT7’s EP marks a triumphant return to the K-pop pioneers

In 2021, after their seven-year contract expired, K-pop group GOT7 left JYP Entertainment. They assured the fans that they would not break up because the seven individual members JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Young Jae, Bam Bam and Yogyum pursued solo activities. A little over a year later, they not only got back together, but released a six-song EP written by the members.

The song “Nanana” was recorded by group leader Jay P

In K-Pop, members of the group have specific roles. The leader takes more responsibility and sets the tone for the rest of the group. The GOT7 leader went above and beyond the call of duty this year as he proceeded to retain the rights to the group’s name from JYP. He was successful and led the whole comeback effort with a new logo.
