Anna Kendrick recalls a “bad” moment when a director embarrassed her in front of 100 extras after asking her to improvise a scene.

When asked about the worst note she received while filming, Kendrick shared an encounter with an unnamed director who encouraged her to go off script and then belittled her in front of everyone.
“I remember one director was once in a room full of 100 extras or something like that, ‘Hey, in this next movie, just try something.’ Just make something. Just make something better,” Kendrick said. , adding that the matter did not go as planned.
“I did that, and then the director called 'cut' and came over, and again in front of 100 extras, he said, 'Oh, let's get back to the script!'” she recalls.
The “Pitch Perfect” actress turned that experience into a powerful move — and she didn't appreciate it.
“It really felt like there was a very specific power move to embarrass me and gain dominance,” Kendrick said. “It was pretty lousy.”
The moment came full circle when her improvisation ended in the film's trailer.
“And then the thing I improved on ended up being in the trailer,” the star said on the podcast. “So, fuck you!”
Kendrick has starred in more than 40 films — including “Twilight,” “A Simple Favor,” “Up in the Air” and the “Pitch Perfect” series — and has not revealed the name of the director, making it difficult to pinpoint one person. particularly.
