New residual waste bins of Euskirchen / Chip technology against illegally used waste containers – Euskirchen area

Remaining waste containers can be clearly assigned to properties using the integrated chip. Containers receive a label indicating the container number, property address, type of waste (residual waste), container size, and barcode. This data is connected to the chip and is read when the container is connected to the discharge rake of the garbage truck. This checks whether the container is properly registered and that the day it was emptied is correct. There is no personal information on the chip or on the label.

There are no changes to the fee system. Waste fees are still charged as a standard fee based on the size of the waste bin remaining.
There are no special fees for bulky waste, etc.

So why change anyway? Illegally displayed residual waste containers, i.e. containers for which the waste duty is not paid or which are displayed in different locations twice on one emptying day, are noted for reading data and left unemptied. Illegal containers will be confiscated. Free disposal of waste at the expense of the general public is no longer possible. Households will be informed of the replacement procedures at the beginning of November through a leaflet on the remaining waste container. Regular disposal according to the collection calendar is not affected by the disbursement campaign.
