Season 3 of Good Omens will only be one episode, and Neil Gaiman is not involved

Season 3 of “Good Omens” will be just one episode and will continue without Neil Gaiman. diverse I've learned.

It was previously announced that the third season of the Amazon Prime Video series, which is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, will be the show's last. However, production on season 3 was paused in September after Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

Now, Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 will consist of a single 90-minute episode, with production expected to resume in early 2025 in Scotland. According to a person familiar with the situation, Gaiman helped write the series finale, but will not be working on the show once production resumes. He is also no longer listed among the show's executive producers for the final episode.

“Good Omens” premiered on Prime Video in 2019, with Gaiman originally credited as the creator, executive producer and showrunner. It stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, respectively. The series was originally scheduled to be a limited series, but its popularity prompted Amazon to renew it for a second season based on an idea that Gaiman said he discussed with Pratchett before Pratchett's death in 2015.

Narrativia's Rob Wilkins, who represents the Pratchett estate, as well as BBC Studios Productions head of comedy Josh Cole, will produce the third season. The third season will be produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions and Narrativia.

This is the latest in the fallout since the accusations against Gaiman became public. It was also previously reported that Disney has temporarily halted development on the film adaptation of Gaiman's novel “The Graveyard Book.” Amazon is currently preparing a series adaptation of Gaiman's book “Anansi Boys,” which will complete filming in May 2022. The series does not have a premiere date at the time of publication, but will likely launch sometime in 2025.

Likewise, the second season of the Netflix series “The Sandman,” based on the DC Comics series by Gaiman, is currently in the works. The first look was recently released as part of Netflix's Geeked Week, with season 2 also expected to debut in 2025.
