You should be happy and friendly with your loved ones in the world. Tenor Benny Patti takes this moral imperative to heart with an intense and passionate recital. Here too, he gives his brother Amitai and his wife Amina Idris plenty of space for wonderful, beautiful, captivating moments. Emmanuel Vilum's careful direction is sympathetic, making the Italian scenes more delicate than the French ones. Benny Patty's voice is soft and manly at the same time. It uses the midrange a little more forcefully than the high-end areas, which makes its graphics look perfect. The choice of music also makes this album perfect, because the dramatic crescendo always arises from a lyrical foundation. Highlights are the trio of “La Juive”, the clearly kitsch-free cherry duet of “L'amico Fritz” and the proclaimed “Nessun dorma” without unnecessarily strong atmosphere. Patty moves without pressure and therefore confidently through the easier and more difficult parts.
