Daniil Trifonov explores the music of his new American homeland, with concerts by Gershwin and Mason Bates, born in 1977, as well as solo works by Copland (Variations), Corigliano (Fantasia) and smaller works – a colorful mixture of jazz, swing and jazz. Minimal music and modernity. He will work again in concerts with the bold and colorful Philadelphia Orchestra and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Trifonov created this music with a desire for freedom, especially in Gershwin, and a high degree of stylistic flexibility. For example, Copland's string layers are sometimes measured in a monumental, sometimes elegant way; In the sparsely composed passages, he relies entirely on his quality of eliciting the notes with their own material from the piano. In the Beats Concerto, premiered in 2022, Trifonov effortlessly displays all his virtuoso skills, especially in the finale.
