The Helldivers 2 expansion “Escalation of Freedom” will be released on August 6, 2024. The developers at Arrowhead Game Studios promise players a lot of new content.
In keeping with the style of the update title, the potential difficulty for hardcore Helldivers has been increased. You’ll be able to take on missions with difficulty level 10: Super Helldive. They’re designed to offer players a massive challenge – and massive rewards.
As the developer blog shows, the community also wanted more variety. As a solution, the update promises new mission objectives and larger enemy outposts.
Returning from the first Helldivers, the Impaler once again stands in the way of players. Even the Terminids get a total of three new units: the Spore Striker and the Alpha Commander. Meanwhile, the mechs are enriched with an artillery tank and other “surprises.”
Last but not least, Arrowhead Game Studios is making a change to the ejection system. If a player is ejected from the game by the host, they will still receive all the rewards they earned. The goal is to improve the gaming experience and promote respectful and cooperative gameplay.
The update will be released on August 6, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
