The Japanese company has consistently refrained from using generative AI, and wants to continue to do without the technology. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa made the announcement during a Q&A session with investors, TweakTown wrote.
Furukawa explains the decision to abandon generative AI as follows: “Generative AI can be more creative, but we also know that it brings with it intellectual property issues.”
Generative AI has long since made its way into other big games. For example, it ensures smarter opponents in the racing game Forza Horizon. In Red Dead Redemption 2, non-playable characters live their own lives and remember their encounters with the character.
