Dozens of people marched in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday to demand justice for the former Public Hospital Actor Johnny Wactor, who was shot and killed on May 25 in Los Angeles.
The 37-year-old actor was returning to his car with a colleague at Pico Boulevard and Hope Street after a bartending shift when he noticed three men trying to steal his catalytic converter. When he confronted them, he was shot.
Before the march, family and friends held a press conference to demand justice for Wactor.
“You guys probably don't notice it because the sun's out but it's the only street there that doesn't have lights on.” Brian Barclay said, A security guard for the Level 8 Restaurant and Lounge where Wactor worked. “It could have been any of us.”

His friend Micah Parker added: “It is important to us that this story remains at the forefront of his family and friends’ minds because we loved him and because Johnny deserves justice.”
The Major Crimes Division is working with Central Bureau of Investigation homicide investigators on this case, Chief Deputy District Attorney Joseph Iniguez told the crowd. No arrests have been made but Iniguez said: “We have a number of leads.”

The demonstrators then marched to City Hall, where they were invited to attend a City Council meeting.

“We are committed to ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice,” Council Member Kevin De Leon said. “Johnny's death was senseless and unnecessary.”
On Tuesday, Wactor was memorialized at the end Public Hospital With title card. Wactor appeared on the ABC series between 2020 and 2022 as Brando Corbin.
