Even Civilization 5 requires a lot of stamina to play for a long time.
Spending over 20,000 hours on just one game is something only the most ardent fans can do. Some games usually keep us hooked for several hundred hours when they come out. Really passionate fans play the multiplayer game for 1,000 or 2,000 hours.
But this Steam review puts all that to shame: after 21,136 hours, it succinctly says that the first tens of thousands of hours should be perfectly fine.
The basics in a nutshell:
- This Steam user spent a total of 21,212 hours playing Civilization 5.
- He wrote in one review that the first 20,000 hours were probably “good.”
- It is believed that this was intended as a joke.
- Civilization 5 is a turn-based strategy game with massive replay value.
Fan played 21,136 hours and wrote in his review, “The first 20,000 hours were probably okay.”
This is what it's about: the Steam user Simon He obviously has a favorite game which is Civilization 5. He has now spent 21,212 hours playing it. However, his review of the game was written after “only” 21,136 hours. The die-hard fan has come to the conclusion that this game, which has been played for an incredibly long time, is perfectly fine:
“I would say it was fine for the first 20,000 hours…”
Probably the best Steam review for Civ 5 (Image: steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198032607847/recommended/).
This can only be a joke: Anyone who spends over 21,000 hours in a single game is clearly having a very good time. Otherwise it simply cannot explain why someone would play the same title for so long. So we cannot assume that this review can also be understood as humorous.
the Firstly 20 thousand hours? Of course, it looks like Simon from Australia intends to play Civilization 5 for at least another 20,000 hours. This of course sounds completely ridiculous at first, but we'd say that about the first 20,000 hours. The player has already spent almost two and a half years in the game.
What kind of game is this? If Civilization 5 hasn't told you anything, it's a turn-based strategy game where you build a civilization from the ground up. You can lead them from the Stone Age to the future, fighting other factions, but you can also ally with them.
The possibilities are almost endless and the whole thing offers massive replay value. So it's no wonder that fans can spend hundreds or even thousands of hours playing the games in the series.
What game have you played the longest, and how many hours have you spent on it?
“Explorer. Communicator. Music geek. Web buff. Social media nerd. Food fanatic.”
