Highly reliable measuring devices
Rising raw material prices and the ever-increasing demand for production reliability increase the importance of keeping failure rates as low as possible. Manufacturer of measuring instruments in northern Germany Labum It develops and manufactures a variety of measuring devices for measuring pressure and temperature with SIL qualifications that meet particularly high requirements in terms of reliability.
Although measuring pressure and temperature is one of the most common tasks in process engineering, no two processes are the same. To be able to respond individually to the measurement situation in question, the Labom Group offers a variety of gauges, such as the Pascal Ci4, Pascal CV3 and Compact series suitable for SIL in the pressure measurement range, as well as mechanical pressure gauges with contact switching, e.g. GA27 resistance thermometers for measuring temperature and GA25 as well as gas pressure thermometers with switching contacts.
Conduction and measurement technology
The Pascal CV3 pressure transmitter offers a special advantage: modules can be replaced or supplemented on site using simple plug-and-measure technology – without recalibration and without removing the device from operation. When combined with a switching communication unit, there is no need for an additional controller with SIL qualification, as the CV3 can pass the switching signal directly to the mechanical actuator – such as a pump that needs to stop. This is an advantage for the user because, in addition to the additional costs, controllers are subject to relatively high failure probabilities and are another link in the safety chain that must be taken into account.
Seal and ex
Depending on the process connection, the manufacturer’s different pressure and temperature gauges are suitable for pharmaceutical, food, chemical, energy and many other industries. In addition to SIL qualification, most meters also have EX protection, all parts in contact with the medium are made of stainless steel and a large number of devices are suitable for hydrogen applications. In this way, the highest possible level of reliability can be achieved at every point of production.
