A new business has opened in downtown Greenville, and it’s one that both kids and adults can enjoy. Owned by Georgiana local Marcus Rich, his wife, Rhonda, and brother-in-law, Chris Davidson, RCM Gaming offers several virtual reality simulators, an old-fashioned arcade, pool tables, basketball, skating and board games.
Davidson explained that the partners chose to open the arcade to provide children in the community with a safe place to have fun.
“There aren’t a lot of things available in the community for kids and families to do in Greenville,” Davidson said. “I think providing a safe, family-oriented outlet for everyone would be a plus. You have the option to play multiple games in one place while just enjoying the family and friends atmosphere.
The trail opened in October. 6 and works on weekends. The space is available for parties and groups at special rates Monday through Thursday as well. An all-day pass costs $13 for arcade games, VR games have their own prices based on time increments, and pool tables cost $5 per person or $12 per hour for groups of three or more.
Rich said the partners have plans and visions for other virtual reality games and simulators.
“We eventually want to have a game that’s like an ED simulation for a driver,” Rich said. “To help children and teens learn how to drive and participate in schools.”
Rich added that they plan to have kids-only, teen-only and adults-only days and times in the future to make the space fun for everyone.
RCM Games is open Fridays from 2 to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 6 p.m. The business is located downtown near the courthouse at 605 East Commerce Street.
