The Vikings are hoping to spoil the “wonderful” Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift saga.

That question came up Monday in the locker room for the Minnesota Vikings, who will host the Chiefs — and Swift’s friend, Travis Kelce — on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. That would be “awesome,” Vikings linebacker Byron Murphy Jr. said, but maybe not for Kelce.

“Man, social media is going crazy,” Murphy said when asked about the league’s embrace of the Swift-Kelce story. “And I don’t hate it. This is the world we live in. Are you going to come to this game? We’re locked down, but that’s going to be something. I’ve been watching it since I was a kid. Oh kid, that would sure be cool.”

“Not for him, because we’ll try to get our hands on him in front of her.”

“I’ll say something to him to encourage him to move forward,” added Murphy, who said he has never attended one of Swift’s concerts.

Swift attended Chiefs games and sat with Kelce’s mother during the Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears and Sunday night’s win at the New York Jets.
