The play “Two Geniuses on the Edge of Madness” seems tailor-made for them, because the characters of an aging state actor (Puncic) and an unemployed solo artist (Linnenbrügger) draw each other almost magnetically, even though they miss each other at first (a bit long). very). The comedian willingly surrenders to the classic with the rolling “R,” because they both have one thing in common: Like independent actors so often, they’re simply trainees. Their clients could not put them both in the same place: one for a funeral, the other for a wedding. You only notice the intra-type conflict belatedly and enjoy excessive misunderstanding. Perhaps no evening is quite like the other, for there is ample scope for all kinds of interventions in the cabaret, and the direction, chiefly in the hands of Puncic, partly also by Matthias Gruebner, admits of such good politics, as gentlemen do not. It means “broken existence”, as in the other concepts, but as honorable, if slightly senile. And in the end, they are frankly delighted with live applause.
