On November 12, 2017, after two years of construction, the Heidenheim City Library was officially opened. Exactly five years later, on Saturday 12 November, this Christmas will be celebrated with a lot of programming.
The building, which is not only limited in architectural terms, has evolved into a vibrant center within the city, which is also due to the interesting mix of ‘population’. Because the building houses not only the city’s library, but also the district’s media center, city archives, and Samocca Café. Everyone together celebrates the 5th birthday with many attractions.
to win prizes

The Ellwangen Band Hackberry (a mixture of popular American blues music) will play at various locations in the house, and there will be attractive prizes in a raffle at the city library (in addition to books and tickets for children and adults, there will also be original illustrations by Ingo Siegner (“The Dragon Coconut”) and Alexander Steffensmeier (“Lieselotte” wrote to win). There are also attractive prices for MarioKart family games, which are offered by the city library along with the media center. It’s not the kids or young adults who play for prizes, but the older ones as well. However, kids/young people get the prizes. Moreover, at 11am and 1:30pm, the City Archives offer a guided tour through the rooms, which can only be experienced by prior arrangement – the meeting point for tours is at the information desk on the ground floor .
