Since the 1970s-era Dietrich Fischer-Diskau recording, there hasn’t been a singer who has devoted himself to Robert Schumann’s liar quite as much as Christian Gehrhaier and Jerrold Huber. Gerhair sings a large portion of 299 songs himself, and other roles, duets, and ensembles are translated by trusted singers, including Camilla Teeling, Julia Kletter, Sibylla Robbins, Yeki Lemkoll and Martin Mitrotzner.
