WhatsApp continues to introduce new features to its application, some being copied from one of its direct competitors namely Snapchat. This is the case with the status function, which now allows WhatsApp users to add background colors to their text message.
Owned by Facebook, WhatsApp never stops copying many of the ideas offered by the editor of the Snap mobile application, namely Snapchat. Indeed, the company of Mark Zuckerberg, at the origin of the Instagram Stories, very often aligns itself on its rival by means of somewhat similar functionalities.
Proof is with the “status” function, initially launched by Snapchat and which was later introduced on WhatsApp. As a reminder, it allows to share photos, videos and GIF that disappear after 24 hours. An interesting option, which is now being updated in order to offer new possibilities to users.
WhatsApp: background color options come up with status feature
In addition to being able to send any type of file, WhatsApp users will now be able to customize the interface of their text message thanks to this new update specific to the “status” function.
As of today, any user of WhatsApp on Android or iOS, is able to change font writing and add background colors to messages. In total, there are nearly 10 background color options available to users, which can also include emotions and links in their status with this new feature.
These updates specific to the status tab are therefore of real use not only for the user who can create messages according to his own tastes but also for the contact lists which are more easily informed of the current situation Of their friends. An initiative that is ultimately good and should enable WhatsApp, which currently has 1 billion active users at the present time, to attract even more crowds in the future.
